Production and Writing of The 4400 and Ira Behr’s Revelations
If someone had asked Ira Behr and Scott Peters years ago about a premise for a TV show in which 4400 people vanish and then are mysteriously returned, I wonder what their answers would be. Ira Behr is the Executive Producer of The 4400. During the July 23 Comic-Con Panel Discussion, Ira gave out a few sneaky revelations about the show. One of the most interesting things was why he chose the number 4400. He said that it was a common number seen in news broadcasts. Many people theorize that he chose it because of a reference to the 144,000 in the Bible’s book of Revelations. In the Bible, the context suggest that these 144,000 are marked as special, belonging to God.
When asked, Ira also mentioned that although there was no discussion of a 4400 motion picture (that was then, but we know the demand is much greater since this interview), they would do one if asked . Wherever these ideas came from, we are very happy that all of the writers came together in this ‘creative constellation’ and brought such a wonderful show. All of these guys are extremely talented, have interesting backgrounds and have wonderful experience. There are still very many other talented people behind this show that are not mentioned here.
