The 4400 Guide To Mothering? - Yeah Right!
All the mothers in all the world make sacrifices, and in the case of The 4400, some make the ultimate sacrifice.
One aspect of the series has been its life lessons in its very human story.
Here’s a look at the 4400 mothers, and how they made their motherly mark on the world in our favorite series:
Lily Tyler -Lily is the mother to Heidi Moore before 
she was abducted into the future. After returning from the future, she realized that Brian, her ex-husband, told their daughter Heidi she had died, and he remarried. She was forbidden to see Heidi.
She also realized she was pregnant with Richard Tyler’s baby. Lily died strangely, as a result of old age, a condition that seemed to be the result of the same aging effect that affected her daughter, Isabelle.
Susan Farrell - Susan is the sister to Tom Baldwin and the mother to Shawn and Danny Farrell. She was at the hospital when Shawn woke up from a coma. She played referee when Danny and Shawn fought about Nikki. Her death was an accident, as she was exposed to promicin after Danny took it and unwittingly developed the ability to spread promicin to others.
Linda Baldwin - Linda is the ex-wife of Tom Baldwin and mother to Kyle Baldwin. She exhibited top mothering when she took Kyle into hiding after he assassinated Jordan Collier. Only a mother would do that!
Diana Skouris - Diana is Tom Baldwin’s partner in NTAC and mother to Maia Skouris. Diana formally adopted Maia after realizing Maia was alone in the world, and developing a special bond of love.
Diana protected Maia from the government, Isabelle’s rampage at the school, and anyone she thought would corrupt her, even her sister April.

Aw, thanks for this tribute to the mother’s on the show. Very touching.
By far though my favorite mother has got to be Diana Skouris. Before meeting Maia, and just from what we witnessed in season 1, she was a typical loner and kind of a cold person. I love the fact that she and Maia somehow formed a bond that brought these two loners together. And that the love became unconditional. It’s great that Diana has something to live for. Of all the things that have been said by Diana and Maia this one is by far my favorite:
“You’re my mom now right?”
“Now and forever.”

Oh, you remembered one of my favorite lines too!
I agree. Who knows what would have happened to her if Maia hadn’t come along. Crikey…wait, we do know don’t we! :D

Cool. Yeah Diana and Maia have some of the coolest mother/daughter lines on the show.
And it is real difficult to picture Diana without Maia. The two of them compliment each other real well.
And the transformation in Diana was amazing. She was this real cold and hard person but when she takes on the role of Maia’s guardian and then parent, Diana is willing to risk everything for Maia. In that sense it truly feels like Maia is her biological daughter.
